Rustling on the banks of the Pamba River, between Mavelikkara and
Thiruvalla in the Alappuzha district of Kerala, is the town of Mannar
which has been traditionally famous for vessels, lamps, bells, etc.
made of brass, bronze, silver and other metals. Many of these
creations from Mannar have made its way to the history books as
prominent artifacts.
Little wonder then that a young child who grew up amidst the incessant
clanging sound of metals wanted to carve his own future, brick by
brick, piece by piece, step by step, pursuing the hard tasks of life
with a vision, a dream – a dream that encompassed not just his near
and dear, but one that was so inclusive that it was to touch the lives
of everyone who came close to him. That little child grew up to be
Rajasekharan Pillai.
Hailing from a well-known family from Mannar in South Kerala, as the
son of Mr. Krishna Panicker and Smt. Saradamma, Mr V. K. Rajasekharan
Pillai was driven by a desire for success and recognition right from
his early school days. He realized during those formative years that
it involved a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment.
Mr V. K. Rajasekharan Pillai journeyed to Mumbai in 1979 to start his career as a Media Executive in an advertising agency. That was a period of learning and hard work. When he felt it was time for further learning and consolidation, he decided to accept an opportunity to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He knew that he was moving into unchartered territory, but the challenge of uncertainty was something he did not want to miss out on.
Three decades later, he is blessed with success far greater than he had anticipated, thanks mainly to the blessings of the Almighty and his parents. He then decided to venture into untapped markets beyond the geographical boundaries of India and Saudi Arabia. He slowly but surely established his flagship Company, National Fire Fighting Company W.L.L. in Bahrain, setting benchmarks as he went along.
Today he heads and owns a business empire comprising of fourteen companies spread across India, UK, UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Singapore. He has grown over the years to become one of the leading Indian businessmen in Asia. His tenacity and business acumen have been acknowledged by the entire business community, be they his partners, competitors, clients, employees, accomplices, or professionals from across the world. Success has not taken the focus away though from his philanthropic pursuits and he spends a great deal of time studying and acting upon opportunities to serve humanity, irrespective of race, religion or region.
All along his successful run as a leading businessman, he has never lost sight of his humble beginnings. In addition to being an entrepreneur currently employing more than 2,000 professionals from across the world, he has reached out to the underprivileged in a timely manner. A substantial amount of money is spent every year on charitable ventures that provide solace to the poor and physically challenged persons, helping them live a life of dignity.
Known in Bahrain more as a philanthropist than as a businessman, he has been the silent force behind many a welfare initiative involving the weaker sections in Bahrain. This has included meeting the repatriation expenses of stranded workers, helping the poor in times of need, like assisting in marriage expenses, building houses for those below the poverty line, etc. He has been a leading contributor of free air tickets to poor amnesty workers returning to India.
Several students are beneficiaries of his charity initiative targeted at children from economically backward communities through a dedicated charitable organization called Rajasree Charitable Trust. Mr V. K. Rajasekharan Pillai has been one of the leading contributors to the dream building project of the Keralite community in Bahrain. The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Diamond Jubilee Hall is currently the largest Indian Community Hall in the Arabian Gulf.
He has made significant contributions to the welfare of Indians working abroad as and when requested by the Embassies of India and by other Social & Cultural organizations. He has been one of the main sponsors for the Bahrain based Kerala Social & Cultural Association, a registered social and charitable society. He has also been a major sponsor of many social and cultural initiatives carried out by the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam, Samskriti Bahrain, Chinmaya Society, KCA Bahrain, Syro Malabar Society and the Sree Narayana Cultural Society.
